Reporting to the Quality Manager this position develops, maintains, and improves all aspects of G&W’s quality program as it relates to customer quality and management of customer issues. This includes but not limited to customer issue problem solving, root cause analysis, FMEA, NCR’s, Control Plans, Value Stream Mapping and customer issue management. Additionally, this position will interface with customers, G&W management and G&W departments to drive issues and update progress.

As

a Sr Quality Engineer you will:
  • Interface with customers and internal teams on customer quality issues from issue identification through issue closure, leveraging strong technical and communication abilities to ensure effective/timely solutions.
  • Represent G&W externally on quality issues and bring the voice of the customer into G&W.
  • Champion and lead quality improvement on customer issues.
  • Lead cross-functional problem‑solving teams, conducting root‑cause analysis activities, and driving short‑term and long‑term corrective actions.
  • Analyze issues (process or product) to ensure clear understanding of issues, understand gaps, define actions, and deliver improvement leveraging 8D and other quality improvement methodologies to identify, define and solve issues.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and other forums to provide recommendations to enhance the quality of new designs, bringing in the customer perspective including history of field failures, warranty and issues.
  • Utilize Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failure modes in processes and products to prevent customer quality issues.
  • Apply sound and systematic problem‑solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve complex quality issues.
  • Work across the organization to drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions on quality issues.
  • Report quality issues, performance metrics, and status updates to management and other department team members as needed. Additionally, communicate with engineering, suppliers, and operations regarding issues, process improvements, or other activities.
  • Improve processes or ways of working across the organization using a methodical approach (VSM, lean, etc.).
  • Represent G&W quality in customer meetings and industry events – prepare content and present both internally or externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Has experience interfacing with customers or other stakeholders on urgent/important quality issues, demonstrating judgement, appropriate levels of transparency, and maturity to handle negative issues.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Has manufacturing process experience (preferred).
  • Is a Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
  • Has proven experience with root cause analysis and problem‑solving techniques.
  • Exhibits excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Is proficient in using quality management software and tools.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can influence others and build teams to address issues.
  • Can present information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
Ideally you will also have:
  • Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and advanced quality planning (AQP).
  • Familiarity with industry‑specific quality standards and regulations.
  • Plant operations or issue resolution experience (preferred).
  • Customer interface experience (preferred).
What we offer you:

Typical pay is $85,963 – 111,783 annually.

Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.

This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
