Job Description

The Quality Coordinator is a senior individual contributor role responsible for fleet wide governance and quality assurance of Incident Management and Process/Product Nonconformance programs, while also owning site specific quality process execution and improvement activities at the Invenergy Central Machine Shop.

This role serves as the Quality system steward for incident investigations and nonconformance governance across the fleet, ensuring consistent application of risk based rigor, investigation quality, and corrective action effectiveness in accordance with Invenergy policy and procedures. In parallel, the role provides hands on quality process leadership at the Central Machine Shop, supporting manufacturing, repair, inspection, and continuous improvement activities.

The Quality Coordinator operates as a technical authority, governance facilitator, and cross functional partner, not as a people manager.

  • Provide fleet wide governance oversight for Incident Management and Process/Product Nonconformance programs, ensuring consistent application of Invenergy policies, risk classification criteria, investigation rigor, and closure expectations across all sites.
  • Serve as the Quality authority for investigation governance, reviewing incidents, near misses, and nonconformances to confirm:
  • Act as the Quality representative and facilitator for enterprise governance forums (e.g., Nonconformance Risk Review Committee), including convening reviews, confirming risk classifications, validating investigation scope and rigor, and assessing corrective action adequacy and scalability.
  • Ensure clear governance handoff between Nonconformance Management and Incident Management when Serious Injury or Fatality potential (SIFp) criteria are identified, avoiding duplication and maintaining procedural alignment.
  • Maintain Intelex as the authoritative system of record, enforcing discipline in documentation, approvals, rationale, corrective actions, and evidence to ensure transparency, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Analyze fleet wide trends, repeat issues, and systemic weaknesses related to incidents and nonconformances; elevate insights and recommendations to the Director of Quality to support continuous improvement and preventive actions.
  • Own site level quality process execution at the Central Machine Shop, including identification and documentation of process or product deviations, support of investigations, and verification of corrective action completion for shop specific issues.
  • Partner with Machine Shop leadership, Engineering, Operations, and EHS to improve process consistency, inspection effectiveness, and defect prevention, translating fleet level lessons learned into practical local process improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to investigation owners and contributors across the fleet on risk based thinking, governance expectations, and documentation quality, without assuming execution ownership or people management responsibility.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality, operations, engineering, incident management, manufacturing, or a closely related field.
