Job Description

This position is based in Budd Lake, NJ. Mon-Fri schedule – local routes only, early morning dispatch with no layovers or overnight shifts. Pay rate $27/hr and $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Drivers ensure products arrive on time and in good condition, and act as the face of the company, building lasting customer relationships.

• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspect tractor/truck and trailer to meet DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Count check items, verify customer invoices, and complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule, unloading products into designated customer storage areas.
• Carry out damage control checks, scan items, contact supervisor about order removal, and verify deliveries with customer signatures while collecting payment where required.
• Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer and freight are locked and secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork and remove trash from trailers.
• Record daily hours of service and enter logs according to Federal DOT, state and company requirements.
• Maintain general housekeeping in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean. Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at shift end.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 6+ or 12+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL‑A and must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and or certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years.
• Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attain or hold a valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds up to 60–90 pounds.

• 1+ years of food service distribution industry experience.
• Experience with onboard computer and electronic log system (e.g., People Net).
• Experience with hand‑held point of delivery scanning system (e.g., POD).
• Customer service‑related work experience.
