Job SummaryUnder routine supervision, this position is responsible for dispatching and resolving problems for company drivers, contracted drivers, and/or carriers. The role requires exceptional proactive communication skills with internal and external customers, including promptly resolving pickup and delivery issues, monitoring check‑call completion, documenting activity, and fostering a professional workplace attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor loads assigned to drivers and resolve any issues that affect scheduled pickup or delivery times, communicating proactively with affected customers.
- Resolve problems such as truck mechanical issues, traffic or weather delays, or customer‑directed shipment changes.
- Maintain documentation of driver detention time to ensure accurate, on‑time pay.
- Support the company safety culture by sending daily safety messages and conducting monthly driver briefings, helping enforce compliance with DOT and company requirements.
- Provide support to other team members as needed.
- Communicate professionally, timely, and effectively with internal and external drivers via phone calls and system messages, building a positive attitude to reduce turnover and improve driver satisfaction and productivity.
- Manage company equipment to improve operational efficiency and profitability by coordinating with fleet maintenance teams and drivers to ensure vehicle readiness.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Up to 1 year of experience in transportation, customer service, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to transmit, receive, and accurately interpret information through various mediums.
- Ability to meet or exceed driver needs to provide excellent service.
- Capability to work constructively and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities and directives.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of transportation or customer service experience.
Starting pay range: $20.05 – $25.05 per hour. Pay may be adjusted based on skills, education, experience, and geography. The position may qualify for annual bonuses and incentives in accordance with company plans. This position is not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship.
