Position: W07 - Material Handler -A Shift

Schedule:

Monday‑Thursday 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.

Base Pay: $22–$23 per hour.

Pay Incentives
  • Attendance Incentive – up to $2,400 bonus for good attendance (refer to policy for rules and details).
  • Referral Bonus – up to $500 per referral (refer to policy for rules and details).
  • Hiring Bonus – up to $1,000 (refer to policy for rules and details).
  • Step increase program – pay will increase by $0.50 after 90 days and again after 180 days.
  • Certified/Qualified Forklift/Walk‑in/Cherry Picker drivers receive an additional $0.50 per hour.
  • Certified/Qualified Reach Truck drivers receive an additional $1.00 per hour.

Job Purpose

Perform loading/unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers; ensure all shipments are properly stored and orders are picked from warehouse inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Load/unload truck trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
  • Pick and move items ranging from 1 lb to 50 lb or more multiple times.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Properly store all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
  • Mark shipments correctly before storing or picking.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse area with good housekeeping.
  • Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into the warehouse.
  • Coordinate paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
  • Perform general maintenance around the warehouse.
  • Sweep trailers to keep them clean of debris when empty.
  • Ensure shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Process outbound freight and cross‑dock freight as necessary.
  • Operate stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
  • Follow all safety procedures at all times.
  • Build and break down pallets.
  • Work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Operate forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
  • Demonstrate good communication, problem‑resolution, and people skills.
  • Maintain orderly operation of the warehouse.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of forklift driving experience.
  • Certified forklift license.
Education And/or Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills
  • Must communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of a problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Activation of phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Work in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently.
  • Work in excess of continuous 8‑hour periods when required.
  • Handle stressful situations with good cognitive skills and maintain work accuracy.
  • Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
