Distribution Associate

Position Summary

The Distribution Associate supports daily warehouse and fulfillment operations by accurately picking, checking, packing, processing, and shipping customer orders. This position uses invoices, warehouse systems, shipping software, and other equipment to ensure orders are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pick merchandise according to invoices, pick tickets, or electronic instructions.
• Verify item numbers, descriptions, quantities, and product condition.
• Check completed orders for accuracy before shipment.
• Pack products securely using appropriate cartons, cushioning, and packing materials.
• Place heavier items at the bottom of packages and follow established packaging standards.
• Process orders using applicable shipping systems and carrier methods.
• Apply shipping labels and verify addresses and documentation.
• Operate assigned shipping lines, scanners, computers, and other warehouse equipment.
• Research and resolve order discrepancies or refer them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain established productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Follow all company safety, security, attendance, and operational procedures.
• Assist in other warehouse or distribution functions based on business needs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
• Ability to read and follow invoices, labels, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse and shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to change assignments based on operational needs.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, shipping, or related experience preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the following essential physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and use hands to handle merchandise.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive motions associated with picking, packing, and shipping.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Ability to work assigned shifts, which may include weekends, overtime, and peak-season schedules.
• Work is performed primarily in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• The employee may experience varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment.
• Required personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed.
