Summary

Southwest Baptist University invites applications and nominations for a nine-month, full time Accounting faculty position. Faculty rank will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

* Teaching responsibilities include accounting & potentially business courses for the undergraduate or MBA programs through in-person, hybrid, or online modalities.

* Ensure a positive and effective learning environment for students.

* Mentor and advise students.

* Support student success efforts such as remediation, success plans, etc.

* Conduct ongoing program assessment through data collection, review, and analysis.

* Set an example of a Christian lifestyle for students, staff, and faculty.

* Assist in recruiting prospective students and growing the accounting program.

* Establish relationships with program stakeholders.

* Assist in curriculum evaluation and development.

* Pursuit of professional development within discipline as it relates to the mission of SBU.

* Participate in department and university committees as well as support other university functions.

* Scholarship within discipline strongly encouraged.

Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in accounting or business field.

* CPA or CMA designation.

* Demonstrate an Evangelical Christian faith compatible with SBU's mission. Preference will be given to Southern Baptists.

* Embrace and promote the mission of SBU.

* Strong desire to pursue excellence in teaching and mentoring students.

Preferred Qualifications

* Ph.D., DBA, or other approved terminal degree in accounting or closely related field.

* Previous teaching experience.
