What Is The Opportunity?Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Heavy‑Duty Equipment Technician will be responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems, and diagnosing/repairs of drill rigs, piling equipment and earthmoving construction equipment. The Heavy‑Duty Equipment Technician will be based out of our Cambridge, Ontario shop.
What You'll Do Here:- Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
- Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
- Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
- Inspect and examine equipment.
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain equipment.
- Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
- Perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing cranes, piling drill rigs and Earthmoving construction equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues.
- Make repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
- Show initiative, diligence and reliability.
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Carry out other duties as required.
- 5+ years of experience as a Red Seal Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A).
- Experience repairing cranes and piling drill rigs is considered a strong asset.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirements.
- Fewer than 6 demerit points on driver’s abstract.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge.
- Physically fit, heavy lifting required.
Hourly Wage: $46.00 - $56.00 per hour.
