Role DescriptionThe Cabinet Maker & Installer role at Family Kitchen is a full-time hybrid position based in Bolton, ON, with some work-from-home tasks where appropriate (such as planning, documentation, or virtual coordination). Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing custom cabinets using woodworking tools and machinery, as well as preparing materials and hardware for installation. The role involves onsite installation of cabinets in residential and commercial properties, ensuring precise fit, secure mounting, and high-quality workmanship.
The Cabinet Maker & Installer will read and interpret drawings and specifications, coordinate with designers and project managers, and follow safety standards and quality control procedures. The position also includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace, troubleshooting installation issues, and communicating professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong cabinet making and woodworking skills, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing cabinetry.
- Experience with cabinet installation, including leveling, fastening, and adjusting doors, drawers, and hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely, such as saws, drills, sanders, and clamps.
- Solid understanding of materials (wood, laminates, hardware) and construction techniques used in cabinetry and millwork.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and high-quality finishes.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and install cabinets and materials, and to work safely in shop and onsite environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a professional approach to interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites in and around Bolton, ON.
- Previous experience as a cabinet maker, carpenter, or installer; trade certification or apprenticeship completion is an asset.
