Process Engineer (Instruments)

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to design instrumentation and control systems that support safe and efficient operations. This role is responsible for specifying field instruments including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and rotating equipment (pumps and fans, etc.). The Instrumentation Engineer will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to optimize system performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Be familiar with the customer's project specifications and control philosophies.

Maintain detailed working knowledge of equipment and devices required to achieve the required finished product.

Maintain detailed working knowledge of all governing associations required to include but not be limited to:

ISA
UL
NEMA
ASME
Others as required by the project.

Provide completed ISA data sheets on all instruments required on each project.

Provide component data sheets on all components required on each project.

Assist in control logic theory and control development as needed.

Assist in parts selection for instruments and control devices to best achieve the process control required while staying within the project estimate and budget.

Review manufacturing drawings to confirm installation techniques for instruments and equipment as required.

Review control logic drawings as needed and provide suggested changes to provide the best possible control.

Provide in-house support to:

Mechanical Designers
Project Managers
Manufacturing personnel
Other services as directed by the Engineering Manager or Director of Operations.

Maintain training requirements required and document (with the Quality Department).

Maintain working knowledge of industry requirements required to perform your duties.

Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Engineering Manager or Vice President of Sales & Applications.

Experience

Instrumentation selection, including completing ISA data sheets, pump/blower sizing, manual and automated valves, etc.: 3 years (Required)
