Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

• The Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation & Treatment Program (MHRRTP) located in Bonham - TX
• The MHRRTP is on the Sam Rayburn Memorial campus and located organizationally within the department of Mental Health
• It is an integral component of the healthcare delivery of the VA North Texas Healthcare System
• This MHRRTP has 186 beds and is part of VISN 17
• The MHRRTP provides coordinated - integrated - rehabilitative and restorative mental health care - using evidence-based practices - to help eligible veterans achieve and maintain the highest possible level of functioning and independence
• The MHRRTP healthcare delivery system is comprised of the following bed sections:
  
  - Substance Use - Post Traumatic Stress - General Dom - including homeless and compensated work therapy The NP performs clinical care for patients of all ages and with multiple complex mental and physical health problems in a residential care setting
• Many Veterans have recently been discharged from an inpatient psychiatric unit
• The individual is expected to collaborate with the Medical Director in maintaining quality assurance and the MHRRTP Program Manager for administrative needs
• They must be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare disciplines - to include nursing - medical - pharmacy - psychiatry and a variety of licensed independent practitioners
• Cross coverage of other residential programs will be required
