Patient Care Tech - Tmc Bonham Er; Prn

Responsibilities

TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25‑bed critical access hospital that provides both inpatient and outpatient services, including 24‑hour emergency care. The mission is to deliver quality healthcare and patient safety by providing the right care at the right time in the right setting.

Works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner. Performs tasks as competency documentation designates and provides direct care with limited invasive procedures. Responsibilities include visual observations of patients, collecting and recording vital signs, reporting abnormalities, documenting findings, employing crisis techniques as needed, assisting patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living under RN oversight, and performing limited patient registration functions to support timely patient throughput.

• Reading and numerical competency. Must possess competency in the use of technology and computers.
• Previous caregiving experience preferred. Must have the ability to demonstrate basic caregiving skills and essential job functions.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines. All required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department and report patient welfare, safety, and security to RN.
