The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.
- Under the direction of the ACNO, plans, organizes, directs, and supervises department programs. Ensures service excellence development, personnel management, and resource allocation and control. Assumes direction of participation in special projects as needed. Coordinates hospital-wide compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for the 24 hour management of the assigned unit assuring patient care meets the standard of care.

Qualifications- Current Texas nursing license or compact license. BSN preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years acute ED clinical experience required and a minimum of two (2) years progressive management experience required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS, and PALS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
- HWC and TNCC within 6 months.
- CEN preferred.
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
