The Telecom Construction Laborer is responsible for preparing worksites for the construction, maintenance, and operation of underground telecommunications lines. They will load, unload, and transport various construction materials and tools. This position will use various, specialized equipment in addition to handheld tools in an outside work environment. The Telecom Construction Laborer installs, maintains, inspects, and repairs CATV lines to include Fiber and Coax.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Will perform general construction work under the direction of the Job Site Supervisor.
- Will clear debris for Drill Operator.
- Check utilities and clearance.
- Will install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling, vaults, and pedestals.
- Excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
- Assist with machinery maintenance.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions on job sites.
- Other duties as needed.
- Must have a Driver's License in good standing.
- Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- No formal education required. Experience with drills, excavators, and locators is a plus.
- This position requires extended periods of standing, crouching, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 90 pounds.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
