Activity Coordinator/Event Manager
Qualification:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Reports to:
Activities Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Activity Coordinator/Event Manager is to represent the Boone Community School District at various events in a supervisory role.
- 1. Events will include sporting activities, fine arts activities, and duties as assigned. These events will vary from middle school to high school.
- 2. Scheduling for events will be done prior to the beginning of each season (fall, winter, spring, summer).
- 3. Activity coordinators are needed at larger events, including all home football and track meets.
- 4. A few of the away events may require supervision, such as rival games with larger crowds, tournament games, and state tournament games.
- 5. Any extra events hosted (e.g., tournament games, show choir, speech contests) will require supervision.
- 6. Scheduling will be assigned by the activities director.
- 7. Activity coordinators are to arrive 45–60 minutes before start time and make sure the event area is safe and ready.
- 8. Coordinators are responsible for ensuring that ticketing programs are ready and securing gate money in a safe place at the conclusion of an event.
- 9. Coordinators must be hospitable to game officials and visiting teams, including taking care of locker room facilities if necessary.
- 10. Coordinators will take care of the needs of officials (drinks, food, changing facilities, etc.) before, during, and after the contest.
- 11. Coordinators are responsible for crowd disruptions if they occur.
- 12. For indoor events, coordinators are responsible for periodically patrolling the hallways during contests.
- 13. Coordinators will help with exiting crowds after contests and may assist with cleanup at some events.
- 14. Coordinators will not coach/direct when scheduled to supervise unless there are more than one supervisor assigned to the event.
- 15. If problems occur at an event, inform the Activities Director. If a fan has to be removed, try to obtain a name.
