The Form Welder is responsible for welding and assembling concrete pipe forms.

• Lays out, cuts and drills stock from blueprints or verbal instructions.
• Cuts, rolls and/or breaks pieces to required dimensions and shapes.
• Assembles parts and assists in welding in place, finishing by grinding welds smooth.
• Works between two crews if needed.
• Transports parts to designated area.
• Will be required to do other jobs in the department at or below their job grade.

The Form Welder helps in fabrication of cones, hoppers, riser forms, base forms, horizontal and vertical flares, box culverts and others. Must have knowledge of parts and blueprint layouts. Cutting all parts to 1/16” is required. Performs other duties as required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One-year shop experience.

Skills: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull and carry objects. Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, forming, positioning, and moving materials or manipulating items such as hand tools and hoist.

Requirements: Operator must work in a safe manner and must have a safe work record. Safety must be the first and foremost concern as these machines are capable of great bodily harm.

Hoists and lifting devices are available at each shop workstation to use for lifting and maneuvering parts.
