** As a Day Stocker at Hy-Vee, you’ll play a key role in keeping our shelves full, organized, and looking great for every customer who walks through our doors. From unloading trucks and rotating product to assisting customers and keeping the store tidy, your work has a direct impact on the shopping experience our customers count on.

** What You’ll Do
** No two shifts are exactly the same, but here’s what you can expect:
* Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need throughout the store
* Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along any feedback or requests to the team
* Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshness
* Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly
* Organize stock for greatest efficiency and clean and restock any damaged items
* Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers
* Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input
* Operate the register for customer purchases as needed
* Stock supplies including cigarettes, front-end sacks, and department supplies
* Assist with outside maintenance including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and returning carts
* Help with cleaning throughout the store including registers, restrooms, breakroom, and backroom
* Train new day stockers on job duties as needed
* Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
* Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Perishables, and Store Operations, Day Stock Manager, and Service Managers
** Your Skills
** You don’t need extensive experience for this role! We’ll happily train and support you as you grow. To be successful, you’ll need to be able to:
* Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence
* Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
* Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way
* Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy store environment
* High school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred
