Concrete Finishers - Concrete Carpenters

Gleeson Constructors & Engineers is hiring experienced Concrete Finishers / Concrete Carpenters for a large-scale food facility expansion in Boone, Iowa
.

This is not typical flatwork. This project includes industrial freezer floors, dock slabs, and food-grade construction where precision, durability, and quality matter.

• Freezer and dock slabs designed for heavy traffic and cold storage environments
• Concrete placed over insulation, vapor barriers, and glycol heat systems
• Floors requiring tight tolerances
• Curbs and protection systems for forklift traffic
• Food-grade construction with clean, durable finishes

• Place, finish, and cure concrete for industrial slabs and foundations
• Set and align forms for walls, curbs, and slab work
• Screed, float, and finish concrete to specified tolerances and elevations
• Cut joints and ensure proper curing methods
• Work with the crew to maintain quality, safety, and production goals
• Assist with carpentry work when needed

• Experience in commercial or industrial concrete (not just residential)
• Ability to finish large slabs with consistency and precision
• Understanding of flatness/levelness requirements
• Strong work ethic - shows up ready to work and be part of a team
• Ability to work in varied environments, including cooler conditions

• Prior concrete finishing experience required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Follow all job site safety requirements
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical

• Work on high-level food processing and cold storage facilities
