Overview
Part-Time Regular Office Clerk – Watauga County Sanitation Department. Under general supervision, performs administrative duties including reading vehicle scales, entering data, typing, maintaining files and records, and maintaining effective working relationships with County officials, associates, and the general public.
Responsibilities- Weigh county vehicles, private contract vehicles, and all other vehicles bringing refuse and garbage to the landfill on a computerized scale system.
- Maintain a variety of operational, bookkeeping, budget and program records; process accounts receivable and payable; prepare daily bank deposits.
- May prepare and submit department payroll for approval and processing.
- Answer questions and respond to inquiries or complaints on department and county operations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain calendars, schedule appointments, and assist with staff schedules.
- May perform the duties of the Container Site Attendant as required.
Graduation from high school and some clerical experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Working Arrangements & BenefitsPosition will work approximately 20 to 25 hours per week and receive half-time benefits. County benefit package includes health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Some weekend work is required.
CompensationSalary grade 3, $21.38 per hour.
