Manager, The Learning Center & Inclusion

• Compensation: Starting at $74,900annually, based on education and experience.

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Learning Center, aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee day-to-day Learning Center operations, including scheduling, staffing, budget management, and resource allocation.
• Partner with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop relevant educational programs.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms, assessment tools, and performance metrics.
• Design and deliver a comprehensive professional development program for employees across all levels and departments.
• Coordinate workshops, seminars, and other learning activities; provide coaching and support for career advancement and skill development.
• Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

• Develop and implement strategies to recruit, retain, and support a diverse workforce.
• Partner with HR and other stakeholders to ensure policies and practices promote inclusivity and mitigate bias.
• Build partnerships with internal departments, external organizations, and community stakeholders to enhance learning and inclusion efforts.
• Represent UNC Health Appalachian at relevant forums, conferences, and networking events.
• Ensure all learning and development activities comply with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policy.
• Maintain accurate training records and prepare reports on learning outcomes and participation for leadership review.

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on adult education, instructional design, or organizational learning.
  • Previous experience managing teams, budgets, and projects required.
  • Healthcare industry experience desirable.

  • Certification in instructional design, training facilitation, or diversity and inclusion is a plus.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with experience implementing related initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
