RoleRegional Finance Specialist — you will partner with Regional Finance Officers and Finance leadership to provide strategic financial guidance that strengthens the fiscal performance of field offices and disaster response operations. You will support financial management of externally funded awards and affiliate funding, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data in our ministry-wide financial system, and help equip field offices with the financial expertise they need to achieve their mission.

In the role of Regional Finance Specialist
, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
- Travel to field sites to ensure proper implementation of finance-related policies and procedures, for temporary assignments, and for other objectives as needed.
- Support Regional Finance Officers and field offices with transaction posting, P Card review, journal entry uploads, and month-end tasks.
- Update Regional Finance Officers and Finance leadership on the financial management performance of assigned field offices.
- Inform the Regional Finance Officer of financial issues originating from and/or affecting assigned field offices.
- Provide timely and accurate financial analysis for assigned field offices.
- Monitor internal controls and conduct periodic assessments to identify risks in financial operations across field offices.
- Assist with implementing training programs for Finance staff and for other staff as needed.
- Facilitate fund requests from field offices and monitor cash and bank balances; provide an analysis of the cash position to the Regional Finance Officer accordingly.
- Participate in regional team meetings, coordination, and planning.
- Guide and support Finance Managers with problem-solving challenges while ensuring financial integrity.
- Facilitate the calculation and payment of in-country taxes for International Field Staff in assigned field offices as necessary.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the financial aspects of assigned Samaritan's Purse projects and activities to respond to general inquiries.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and two to three years of related accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA is preferred. International experience and cross-cultural communication and ministry exposure are preferred.
Knowledge and
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of GAAP; ability to lead in-person and remote trainings; ability to calculate, present, and analyze financial information; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Outlook
- Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies are strongly preferred; if not completed, option to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
