• Enforcing laws and performing intermediate protective service work
• Patrolling assigned area
• Investigating criminal activity
• Serving civil and criminal papers
• Ensuring safety of the public
• Testifying in court
• Maintaining records and files
• Preparing reports and related assigned work

High school diploma or GED required, with moderate experience in law enforcement, and possession of North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance; membership with the Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System, 5% supplemental retirement contribution; paid holidays; vacation and sick leave.

$54,034 - $56,736, depending on qualifications.
