Overview

The Town of Boone is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual, preferably a U.S. military veteran or transitioning service member, to join our police department as a full-time Police Officer. This role offers the opportunity to continue serving the community with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of duty, while utilizing leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills gained through military service.

• Uphold laws, protect life and property, and maintain public safety within the Town of Boone.
• Engage with community members; respond to calls for service; conduct investigations as assigned.
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

• Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
• Possession of Basic Law Enforcement certificate strongly preferred.
• Must meet and maintain all minimum training and experience requirements for the position established by the department and the State of North Carolina.
• Copy of DD-214 is required.

All offers of employment are subject to successful completion of a controlled substance screening, a medical examination and an extensive background check. Employee will serve a six-month probation. Town of Boone is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

• Total Compensation: $73,862 (includes $15,090 additional compensation)
