Income Maintenance Caseworker
OverviewWatauga County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for an Income Maintenance Caseworker to work in the Food and Nutrition Unit. The role involves intermediate technical work determining eligibility of applicants/recipients for social service income maintenance programs.
Responsibilities- Determine eligibility of applicants and recipients under income maintenance programs.
- Read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Communicate with clients, the public, and public officials to obtain data and explain program rules.
- Instruct and evaluate lower level employees.
- Perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.
- One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Significant knowledge of the program and associated areas.
- General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services that affect clients.
- Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills.
Salary range: $45,564 - $50,235, dependent upon qualifications.
County benefit package includes health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
