UNC Health Appalachian/MAHEC is recruiting for Family Medicine Faculty:

• Must have a passion for teaching outpatient Family Med, Women's Health and low risk OB

• Well versed in OB ultrasound, Colposcopies and other in-office procedures

• 70% Clinical / 30% Administrative

• Reasonable Call Expectations

• UNC Affiliated Health System

• EPIC experience a plus

• Compensation Includes:
  Sign On, Relocation, Base Salary, Yearly CME Stipend, 6 Weeks Vacation/CME, Health & Retirement Benefits, Paid Malpractice

MAHEC Family Medicine Residency has more than 40 years of outstanding medical training as the largest Area Health Education Center in North Carolina and the nation. Residents have always been key contributors to our program s environment of innovation. Our comprehensive training places a strong emphasis on rural medicine, community-based care, women s health, behavioral medicine, geriatrics, and the care of special populations including patients with substance use disorders.

Partnering with Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (ARHS), a small non-profit health system based in Boone, NC, residents get the best rural family medicine training in the state.

ARHS currently owns 2 hospitals in Boone and Linville, NC (Watauga Medical Center and Cannon Memorial Hospital); as well as a regional cancer center, a 27-bed inpatient behavioral health center

Most training takes place around Watauga Medical Center; which has:

• Grade "A" Leap Frog Safety Rating

• Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval

• Joint Commission Advanced Certification for Chest Pain

• Joint Commission Primary Stroke Certification

• Stroke Honor Roll Silver Plus Achievement Award by the American Heart Association

Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Boone is one of the most well know university and resort communities in the Southeast.
