Pastor of Outreach and Assimilation

Supervisor:
The Pastor of Outreach and Assimilation will be a member of the pastoral staff and will report to and be supervised by the Senior Pastor on a day-to-day basis. Ultimate and final responsibility for determining the duties of this staff position, however, will be the Board of Elders collectively. An annual performance evaluation will be conducted by the Board of Elders.

• A Committed Christian with a Vital and Growing Walk – A man who himself is committed to leading a personal lifestyle of commitment, study and worship.
• Education – A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree in Theology/Bible.
• Ministry Experience – Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of five years church ministry experience.
• A Shepherd’s Heart – A man who recognizes the importance of shepherding those under his care, training and equipping them for more effective service (Ephesians
  4).
• In agreement with the ABF Doctrinal Statement, and a willingness to be licensed and ordained by Alliance Bible Fellowship (if not ordained by an approved ministerial association).
• Meets the qualifications of an Elder (I Timothy 3 and Titus
  1).

The Pastor of Outreach and Assimilation will serve under the direction of the Mission Statement and Core Values of Alliance Bible Fellowship. Serving as an equipper/facilitator/teacher, he will encourage the people of ABF to be engaged in an intentional process of becoming and multiplying fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

• Serves as pastoral staff person responsible for oversight of the local and global mission’s programs at ABF, to include Missions Committee, annual Missions Events, and short-term mission trips.
• Develop steps of assimilation such as:
  • Follow up on guests at ABF with letters, phone contacts and personal visits.
  • Coordinate Weekender and membership process.
  • Oversee and train those working with the Alliance Encounter Teams.
• Develop methods of outreach in our community to include:
  • Teaching/Training in personal evangelism.
  • Servant evangelism/kindness outreach ministry.
  • Assists in special outreach events.
  • Work in conjunction with other ministries to assist them in outreach/assimilation.
• Mercy Ministry
  • Develop and maintain intentional mercy mission to our community, such as Team Alliance.
• Coordinate hospital and shut-in visitation.
• Coordinate Benevolence process.
• Encourage and communicate with Deacon Chair.
• Provide Administrative Oversight for all aspects of outreach/assimilation ministries.
• Maintain Balanced Budgets for all areas of oversight.

• The Pastor of Outreach and Assimilation will necessarily have to work some evenings and other irregular hours in order to fulfill his responsibilities. He will attempt to schedule as much time as possible to be at the church during normal business hours, so as to be available to the body in general.
• He will be on call as necessary for pastoral emergencies.

The Pastor will be provided benefits, to include vacation, absences, health insurance, sabbaticals, retirement account, etc., in accordance with established church policies.
