Watauga Medical Center is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This is a night shift position in a standard ICU setting with 1:1–1:2 ratios.
This is an AYA Auto Offer position — fast submission and quick turnaround for qualified candidates.
The ideal candidate will have strong critical care skills, recent travel experience, and flexibility to float as needed.
Schedule & Requirements- 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Up to 2 weekends per month
- Floating required to IMCU and Med Surg based on census
- Must be highly flexible with floating
- 13-week contract
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience
- 2+ years travel experience required
- Active North Carolina RN license or Multistate Compact license
- Must live 40+ miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Certifications (AHA only):
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- PALS
- Ventilator management
- Airway management
- Care of ventilated patients
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Cardiac monitoring
- Central line care & arterial line management
- Titration of vasoactive drips
- Continuous IV sedation
- Management of multi-system organ failure
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Isolation precautions & infection prevention
⚠️ Pediatric patients are not frequent but are not redirected — candidates must be comfortable caring for pediatric ICU patients if needed.
Unit Details- ICU Track 2 facility
- Patient ratios: 1:1–1:2 (may vary when floating)
- Patient populations:
Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics - EMR: EPIC (recent proficiency required)
- Scrubs:
All white or all navy
- COVID-19 Vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must provide driver’s license for address verification
- All RTO must be included at submission
- Qualivis cover sheet and current NURSYS report required
- Must disclose any background history prior to submission
- Return travelers must be gone 1 year before reapplying
