Samaritan's Purse is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Cook. In this role, you will work alongside the Lead Cook to prepare delicious meals for our staff, volunteers, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include assisting with menu planning, ordering and purchasing ingredients, preparing breakfast and dinner, providing items for lunch, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

A day in the life of an Assistant Cook:
At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff, and volunteers who serve around the globe.
In the role of Assistant Cook
, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Assist the Lead Cook in preparing the menu, orders, and purchases to serve staff and volunteers
- Help the Lead Cook in preparing breakfast and dinner each day at set times as requested, and provide items for the volunteers to prepare a bag lunch each morning before going out to work
- Assist with maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a clean manner
- Greet all staff and visitors, and utilize volunteers to assist as needed in the kitchen
- Provide receipts and weekly time sheets to the Office Manager for reporting
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year experience in food preparation; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- General knowledge of safe food handling procedures
