Samaritans Purse is seeking an HVAC Technician at our International Headquarters location in Boone, N.C. As an HVAC Technician you will be responsible for setup, programming, operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at all Samaritan's Purse facilities. You will provide work direction to other HVAC Technicians, and supervise outside HVAC vendors as necessary. Come and use your gifts daily to advance the Gospel!!

In the role of HVAC Technician
, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Maintain daily operation of all systems of HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot system failures and make necessary repairs, with a strong emphasis on Preventive Maintenance.
- Perform and oversee quarterly inspections of equipment and programming systems, logging scheduled inspection reports as required. Report any deficiencies or concerns to Director of Facilities. Provide hands‑on field training for Maintenance staff as assigned.
- Make recommendations on equipment purchases and energy‑savings strategies. Assist Facilities Manager with inventory start‑up and monitoring of necessary inventory to facilitate prompt repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment. Perform all work in a safe manner and follow all associated safety guidelines.
- HVAC technician certification and at least five (5) years of commercial experience installing, operating, and maintaining HVAC equipment and systems; such as rooftop units 50 tons and less, VAV, VRV and ERU systems, server‑room cooling equipment, gas pack units, split systems, mini splits, the ability to monitor BAS systems, preferred refrigeration experience such as coolers/freezer, ice makers, and hot‑side equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC/mechanical maintenance. The work calls for sufficient comprehension and the ability to solve unusual as well as common work problems, to be able to advise on technical matters, and to serve as a resource on the subject for others in the organization.
- Ability to pick up 80 lbs.
- Ability to climb wall‑mounted ladders.
- EPA universal certification required.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to be the liaison for outside contractors.
- Ability to order parts for needed repairs.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
