DESCRIPTION:

TRiO is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Student Support Services Academic Coordinator. The position is a full-time, 12-month employment. This person will report to the SSS Director and will be responsible for a case management load of 65 participants with a focus on monitoring participant academic progress; coordination of tutoring, training/supervising peer tutors, and supplemental academic support for participants in developmental courses;

conducting college success skills workshops; working with faculty for early alerts and mid-term progress reports on participant academic progress; and, assisting with identification, selection and assessment of participants and project information dissemination.

The successful candidate will be organized, flexible, resilient, and will prioritize the well-being, success, and growth of the program. He or she will act as an integral part of the TRiO team, participating in and actively planning and executing student activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in an academic discipline required;
Master's degree preferred.

* Knowledge of academic support resources and academic curricula.

* Ability to supervise student workers.

* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

* Experience working with disadvantaged students.

* Two years of experience in academic support services preferred, preferably in a higher education setting.

* Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

* Commitment to student success, retention, and academic achievement.
