Position: Process Engineer, Specialty Carbon Black – Pampa, TX 9/80 Schedule

Process Engineer – Pampa, TX

Cabot Corporation is looking for a Process Engineer to join the technical process engineering team at the Pampa, TX specialty carbon black facility. The role follows a 9/80 schedule with nine-hour days and alternate Fridays off.

Responsibilities

Improve plant performance by identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements to optimize product volume, yields, and quality.
Provide technical support to resolve operating problems, analyze unit downtime, control grade operating conditions, and investigate deviations using root cause analysis.
Resolve quality issues by working with quality personnel and operations to develop actions that improve processes and customer satisfaction.
Develop and provide training to manufacturing personnel on unit processes.
Assist in the development of plant-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for process and equipment operation.
Ensure all product and process changes comply with Management of Change protocols and relevant PSM elements.
Support new product and process campaigns, including documentation, equipment and procedure changes, and participation in Hazard Operability Studies.
Communicate regularly with regional and global counterparts to facilitate continuous improvement and organizational learning.
Support capital projects related to plant operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or university degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
At least 2 years of applicable experience.
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and process/product technology (preferred).
Experience with Process Safety Management and ISO process awareness/compliance (preferred).
Experience with root‑cause analysis techniques (preferred).
Knowledge of plant process equipment, chemistry, and controls (preferred).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and small projects.
Strong analytical, influencing, and teamwork skills.
