Role Description The Accounting Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Bossier City, LA. This position supports daily accounting operations, including processing invoices, maintaining vendor and customer records, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role involves reconciling bank and credit card statements, helping prepare financial reports, and entering transactions into accounting software with a high degree of accuracy.
The Accounting Assistant will collaborate with project managers and other team members to track job costs, support budget monitoring, and ensure timely documentation and filing. This role also includes responding to internal and external inquiries, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to work with Financial Statements and assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software and related tools used for data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of Accounting and Finance principles applied to day-to-day construction-related transactions.
- Bookkeeping skills, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining organized ledgers.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for spreadsheets, reports, and data analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping; experience in construction or contracting is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
