- USE roofing project management software in budget estimate preparation for the project at hand and reviewing the contract specification, drawings, and design and take-off details.
- PROVIDE the initial client contact with details about the work scope and the resources required to finish the project.
- ENSURE that proper supervision and leadership skills are provided to all craft employers as well as subcontractors.
- ENSURE all roofing projects adhere to the site, corporate, building regulations, local authority requirements, and state and federal laws govern the same, thus, guaranteeing timely completion of projects.
- OWN the responsibility of the financial performance of the project at hand.
- PROVIDE safety and hands‑on leadership skills to the work team to optimize productivity, proper use of equipment and materials, and the roofing project’s overall performance.
- BUILD a strong and long‑lasting relationship with the existing as well as the prospective partners.
- SUPERVISE the entire project to ensure that it is within the design budget and schedule. In this case, the roofing manager must liaise with the AE and client representatives and other contractors.
- CREATE departmental standards that are in line with the organization’s best practices and operational success.
- PROVIDE technical support when it comes to drawings interpretations, indorsing construction methods, and the equipment needed. This requires the roofing manager to identify, initiate, and uphold extra work appraising and issuing change orders.

Job Summary
The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT is responsible for directing and overseeing all on‑site commercial roofing operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes. This position provides day‑to‑day leadership to field crews and subcontractors, coordinates with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors, and serves as the primary on‑site representative for the company.
The Field Superintendent ensures quality workmanship, enforces safety standards, manages site logistics, and resolves field issues to support successful project execution and customer satisfaction across projects.
- OVERSEES field staff, assisting foremen with crew leadership.
- CONDUCTS or participates in daily safety audits.
- TRAINS field staff in safety, work skills and efficiency.
- PROVIDES ongoing feedback to foremen regarding job performance.
- RESOLVES complaints and grievances; assists with discipline when necessary.
- SCHEDULES materials, equipment and deliveries, paying special attention to using inventoried materials.
- MONITORS material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and order materials as needed.
- COORDINATES, supervises and manages subcontractors
- MONITORS quality of installations.
- ENGAGES with customers to answer questions and provide explanations.
- SCHEDULES daily or weekly contact with customers to review progress.
- DISCUSES any outstanding issues with customers and other parties.
- MEETS with customers to verify satisfaction with work and billing; deliver warranties.
- REVIEW plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre‑job planning including but not limited to creating site‑specific plans and work plan efficiencies.
