This position is for a full-time 12
-month, unclassified, in-person staff position located on-site at our Bossier Campus. Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

  • An earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Successful management and administrative experience in a higher education environment.
  • Strategic planning and budgeting experience.
  • Accreditation and curriculum development experience.
  • Community college administration experience
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Five (5) years of administrative experience, preferably at a community college.
  • Successful experience with the institutional accreditation process

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
  • Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

This position serves as Chief Academic Officer of the College and the SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison for the College. This position primarily provides administrative leadership, direction and evaluation of instruction and provides guidance for strategic planning and assessment for institutional effectiveness.

  • Serve as Chief Academic Officer of the College, managing and unifying the academic affairs function to promote a current and relevant curriculum consistent with the mission and vision of BPCC.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Team; partner with the Chancellor and other Executive Team members in achieving institutional objectives identified in the College’s Strategic Plan
  • Ensure that programs and activities within academic affairs meet and exceed the requirements of the SACSCOC accreditation standards
  • Discern, analyze, assess, and recommend the creation of new academic programs and the modification, expansion, and/or enhancement of the existing curriculum
  • Serve as liaison to the BPCC Faculty Senate
  • Direct/oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality faculty and academic staff
  • Direct/oversee academic operations at off-campus instructional sites
  • Prepare the annual budget for Academic Affairs, within the College’s strategic priorities
  • Maintain regular communication and working relationship with other areas of the College, keeping them informed of current activities and working with them to achieve institutional priorities
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for marketing and Public Relations to promote for increasing enrollment
  • Oversee application, review, and selection process for BPCC Endowed Professorships
  • Oversee faculty promotion and faculty evaluation processes
  • Facilitate grade appeals process; coordinate with Chair of Appeals Committee for review and communication of grade appeal decisions
  • Monitor activities and makes data-driven decisions in the Academic Affairs Division that meet institutional enrollment goals and instructional needs
  • Promotes student success, partnering with other Vice Chancellors
  • Oversees the preparation of the college catalog, academic calendar, course schedules, and related publications
