Water/Wastewater Utility Technician

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Water/Wastewater Utility Technician for our Bossier City, LA office to assist with operations & maintenance of water and wastewater systems. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of clean water to the community and the proper treatment and disposal of wastewater.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Collecting chlorine samples, monitoring and adjusting chemical feed rates, reading meters, and supporting the operation and maintenance of lift stations.
• Conducting DEQ-required discharge sampling, performing daily site visits to assess sewer and water plant conditions, completing quarterly nitrification sampling, and collecting monthly LDH-required water samples.
• Utilizing SCADA systems along with Office 360 applications, including Excel, to track data, monitor system performance, and support reporting requirements.

What you'll need:

• Hands-on experience with water treatment and wastewater processes, & regulatory compliance.
• Water/Wastewater certification (Level II Certification preferred).
• Leadership experience and a 'Team Player' mindset.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and local, state, and federal laws.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with management.
• Travel to multiple water / wastewater facilities based on client / project need.
• Weekend & Holiday work may be required based on client / project need.
