Job Description

This role is a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda. The specialist supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and providing medical and safety support.

• Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis results.
• Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure.
• Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
