Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Role Overview: A registered nurse providing independent, comprehensive patient care within a clinical setting, demonstrating clinical expertise and managing contingencies effectively.

Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administering medications and treatments per protocols, monitoring for side-effects and efficacy
• Documenting patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assessing learning needs and educating patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources
• Delegating tasks appropriately to care team members to manage clinical situations

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Completion of orientation, competency validation, and ongoing annual certifications

Additional Details: The role requires participation in onboarding programs, competency assessments, and certification renewals within specified grace periods. The position is full-time, with work hours from 11AM to 11PM.
