Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Maneuver and manipulate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, graders, and forklifts.
• Transport earth or other materials, erecting and installing construction materials, and laying down roadbeds
• Maintain safety standards, inspecting machines, and performing basic repairs
• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.
• Detect and fix operating problems. Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers. Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order.
• Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of construction equipment and tools to ensure everything is in working condition.
• Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read manuals and blueprints/plans.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent eye/hand/foot coordination.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
