Staff Accountant – Pickle Robot Company
Base pay range$95,000 – $115,000 per year
About this rolePickle is seeking a dynamic and driven Staff Accountant to help shape the future of warehouse automation. You’ll have the opportunity to build processes and influence the culture within our growing finance and accounting team, working closely with cross‑functional teams to optimize cost efficiency and drive financial insights that impact the entire organization.
Responsibilities- Manage travel and expense transactions, programs, and policies.
- Assist with vendor procurement, payment processes, and customer revenue accounting, including invoicing and collections.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes ensuring timely and accurate cost‑related financial reporting.
- Partner with the Sr. Accountant and Sr. Director of Finance to scale Pickle Robot’s accounting practices.
- Develop and improve cost accounting procedures, systems, and policies.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and production overheads for proper allocation and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to track material, labor, and overhead costs and identify improvement areas.
- Maintain inventory records integrity through audits and reconciliations.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on cost analysis and performance.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes, providing insights into cost drivers.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Minimum 2+ years in accounting with focus on cost accounting in manufacturing, inventory, or production environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard accounting software (SAP, Quick Books, Oracle, Net Suite, etc.) and advanced Excel.
- Experience with corporate sales and state tax filings.
- Familiarity with Avalara or similar tax compliance platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
- Detail‑oriented with ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Experience in process improvement, cost control, and variance analysis.
- Effective communicator across cross‑functional teams, including external customers and vendors.
- Knowledge of GAAP and related accounting standards and compliance.
- Technology sector experience; robotics experience a plus.
- Willingness to work from the Charlestown, MA office at least three days per week.
