The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and leading the month-end and year-end close processes. This role manages and mentors accounting staff, partners cross-functionally with finance and business leaders, and plays a key role in supporting audits and technical accounting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable)
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX or other regulatory requirements (if applicable)
  • Lead and mentor accounting team members, including performance management and professional development
  • Partner with FP&A, tax, and operational teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and business initiatives
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and manage audit deliverables
  • Support technical accounting matters, including new accounting standards and complex transactions
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred)
  • CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audits
  • Prior experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting environments
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a SOX-compliant or highly regulated environment
  • Exposure to technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, equity, or business combinations
  • Experience supporting system implementations or accounting process transformations
