Cost Accounting Manager

We’re partnering with a highly innovative, well-funded, pre-IPO tech/manufacturing company that’s building complex hardware s is a newly created Cost Accounting Manager role with real ownership and visibility across finance, engineering, and operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on cost accounting leader who wants to be close to the product, influence systems and processes, and grow with a company entering its next phase.

• Lead cost accounting for materials, manufacturing sub‑assemblies, and complex systems
• Develop and maintain cost accounting policies, controls, and inventory costing methodologies
• Partner closely with FP&A, engineering, and operations on BOMs, inventory, capitalization, and variance analysis
• Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts, including root‑cause analysis
• Support audits related to inventory, WIP, CIP, and select fixed assets
• Drive ERP enhancements, process improvements, and internal controls
• Lead and develop a small team (1–2 accountants)
• Support grant‑funded and reimbursable R&D accounting where applicable

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or lead role
• Strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or hardware environment
• Experience working with a large ERP system
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment

• Experience in companies funded by government grants or contracts
• Exposure to complex manufacturing, R&D, or pre-IPO environments
