This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys technical accounting, financial reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning.
In this highly visible role, you'll partner with teams across Finance, Actuarial, Investments, and Business Operations while developing deep expertise in the insurance and financial services industries. You'll play a key role in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual GAAP and Statutory financial statements, performing technical accounting research, supporting external audits, and helping drive reporting excellence across the organization.
What You'll Do- Prepare and review GAAP and Statutory financial statements and external reports.
- Take ownership of report content, accuracy, and presentation from start to finish.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules and tie‑out documentation gathered across multiple departments.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual reviews with external auditors.
- Analyze quarterly financial results and support management reporting.
- Benchmark peer companies and recommend reporting best practice.
- Research and interpret GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance.
- Assist with implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
- Prepare accounting policies, technical memos, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct technical accounting research for new or complex transactions.
- Stay current on industry developments and share knowledge across teams.
- Execute and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain related documentation and compliance support.
- Lead and participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or public company reporting.
- Experience preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Strong technical accounting research and documentation skills.
- Exposure to internal controls over financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- CPA or CPA eligibility.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or a regulated industry.
