Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing accounting and tax team. This role is responsible for managing tax compliance, preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing tax planning support, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and clients
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Manage tax compliance activities, including tax filings, extensions, and supporting documentation.
- Research tax issues and provide recommendations on tax planning strategies and compliance matters.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and related accounting records.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather financial information required for tax reporting and planning.
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local tax laws and assess their impact on clients and business operations.
- Assist with tax audits, notices, and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Ensure timely completion of assignments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Support process improvements and contribute to overall operational efficiency within the accounting and tax function.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting and tax staff when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification required.
- Strong experience in corporate and partnership tax compliance and tax preparation.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Strong accounting and general ledger knowledge
- Proficiency with Pro Systems fx Tax and Pro Connect Tax software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Public accounting or tax advisory experience
- Experience working with multiple clients and industries
- Knowledge of tax planning strategies and consulting services
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
