About the Position
Kforce's client, a well-established local, very successful independent Public Accounting firm, is seeking a Public Accounting (Tax with Audit) Director Level. This position is hybrid in the Boston, MA area with salary, benefits package, and other company perks. The client looks to bring on a Senior Manager or Director level with a clear partnership track and long‑term growth potential. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership while advising a diverse client base of closely held businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals.
Responsibilities- Lead complex audit, accounting, and tax engagements across multiple clients
- Review and/or prepare financial statements and tax filings
- Conduct technical research and prepare supporting documentation and memos
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide tax planning strategies and identify value-added service opportunities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff; perform performance evaluations
- Manage multiple client engagements and serve as a trusted advisor
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience in audit and tax
- Currently operating at the Senior Manager, Director, level – possibly a newer partner of a recently merged or larger firm, looking for a better environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable accounting/audit standards (AICPA, FASB, GASB)
- Experience with tax and audit software (e.g., CCH Pro System fx, Quick Books)
- Excellent client relationship management and business development skills
- Ability to bring in business/clients or support business development efforts and contribute to firm growth initiatives
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
