Controller – Real Estate Investments

Our client specializing in real estate development is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting functions. The role offers an estimated pay range of $140,000-$200,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. This position provides a flexible hybrid work schedule, including three days in-office and two days remote each week.

• Lead development accounting for current data center projects, including setup and maintenance of job cost systems
• Analyze and reforecast development costs; assist with scenario analysis
• Calculate management and incentive fees; review contracts for payment terms and allocations
• Manage seamless transition from construction accounting to operational reporting
• Oversee operational accounting, including monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and variances analysis
• Coordinate with property management on rent, recoveries, and facility fees
• Oversee corporate accounting functions such as month-end closing and annual audits
• Supervise and develop team members, conducting regular performance reviews

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Valid controller or senior accounting license preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management software
• Extensive experience in real estate or development accounting

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
• Proven experience in development and operational real estate accounting
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
• High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
