Job Summary
Join Verdolino & Lowey, P.C., a trusted leader in financial consulting, as an on-site Staff Accountant and gain hands-on experience in bankruptcy, insolvency, forensic accounting, tax compliance, and business advisory services while working with a collaborative, experienced team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with budget preparation, budget-to-actual analysis, and expense tracking to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Help prepare cash flow forecasts to maintain an accurate view of available resources.
- Support quarterly investment reporting by aggregating data from client investment funds and assisting with preparation of performance metrics.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure all entries are properly recorded.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis.
- Monitor and help manage cash flow to support overall financial stability.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Facilitate comprehensive records collection, including electronic upload through secure web portals and shared drives.
- Provide support for payroll processing, as needed.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience; internships or entry-level roles will be considered.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close procedures is a plus.
- Proficient with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Quicken, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 hourly
