Assistant Controller​/Director

A leading organization in the real estate services sector is seeking an Assistant Controller/Director to lead their accounting functions for a portfolio of managed properties. This is a highly impactful leadership role offering a salary range of $140,000-$150,000 annually, plus a bonus of at least 10%. • Oversee preparation and review of financial statements for clients, partners, and lenders.
• Ensure compliance with agreements such as management, joint venture, and mortgage documents.
• Interpret lease documents and support complex transaction analysis.
• Collaborate with property and asset management teams on budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding of acquisitions and dispositions.
• Verify lease data accuracy and maintain system integrity.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to uphold quality standards.
• Act as a point of contact for tax and audit engagements.

• 7+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
• 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements for real estate.
• Experience with Yardi
• Strong understanding of CAM, tax escalations, and lease accounting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a paperless, virtual environment.

• Public accounting background or CPA certification.
• MRI knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in a fast-growing, highly collaborative environment.
