Junior Staff Accountant

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, processing accounts payable, supporting grant accounting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts.
• Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and support accounts receivable activities.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and fund accounting records.
• Track grant expenditures and assist with grant reporting and compliance.
• Prepare financial reports, audit schedules, and support annual budget preparation.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries and support process improvements.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounts payable and general accounting experience.
• Nonprofit accounting experience required.
• Experience using Workday required.
• Knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliations, and nonprofit fund accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

$25-28/hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
