Senior Accountant - Real Estate Firm in Boston
We're partnering with one of Boston's leading community development corporations that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative finance team supporting a complex, multi-entity organization with a strong presence in the Greater Boston area.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the organization's accounting operations, supporting month-end close, cash management, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation across multiple entities. This position offers excellent exposure to nonprofit accounting, affordable housing, and real estate development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage cash activity, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts
- Support accounting for multiple affiliated entities, including real estate development activities
- Prepare financial reports and assist with annual audits
- Maintain accounting system data and support day-to-day finance operations
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience supporting audits and intercompany accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
- Prior experience in nonprofit, affordable housing, real estate, or a multi-entity environment is highly preferred
$95K - $115K base salary dependent on experience.
