Controller Position

We are looking for an experienced Controller to provide hands-on leadership across core accounting and finance operations for a long-term contract position based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role will guide the close cycle, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support strategic financial visibility for leadership and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in subscription-based revenue accounting, strong command of compliance requirements, and the ability to oversee day-to-day controllership activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to deliver complete and timely financial reporting.
• Lead accounting treatment for SaaS and subscription revenue, including deferred revenue, bundled arrangements, and variable or usage-driven billing under ASC 606 guidelines.
• Maintain detailed reconciliation support and organized schedules that prepare the business for audit and review requests.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and payroll administration, including coordination with ADP-related payroll processes.
• Manage the general ledger and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy across all key accounts.
• Prepare financial statements, internal management reports, and presentation materials for executive and board-level audiences.
• Monitor liquidity through cash forecasting and treasury oversight to support operational planning.
• Ensure timely completion of sales tax, franchise tax, and other multi-jurisdiction compliance filings.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budgets, forecasts, and variance reviews to improve financial insight and decision-making.
• Assist with investor reporting, fundraising support, due diligence activities, and equity or stock compensation accounting where applicable.
